French Summer Course

Ideal for Yr 11 and Yr 12 students

Classes are held on the summer school site in Cimiez. The language course is open to A'level students and those following European equivalent exams. The programme covers the range of linguistic skills required by exam students of this level. The final day of the course is set aside for a mock exam, in test conditions.
French Over 50s Course

French classes cover the topics of the cultural activities in the afternoon. Linguistic development is encouraged with the help of plays, debates and document based work. The course provides a highly practical approach to the language and is fabulous for developing self-confidence in communication and comprehension. A full social and activity programme is offered as an inclusive part of this course.

French Private Tuition Courses

An extremely intensive French language course, ideal for those who wish to make maximum French language progress over a one or two week period. Aimed at business people or those who need to work on their French for academic or professional reasons, for whom time is of the essence.
French & Cookery Courses

Combine general French studies with 2 afternoons dedicated to the terminology specific to the cook, vocabulary, origins and characteristic of French cuisine, how to read a French cookery book and French expressions plus 4 afternoons of guided sessions by a professional Chef, one afternoon of wine and cheese tasting at the college and also a visit to the Lycee Hotelier in Nice (a guided tour of the hotel school and lunch, except in July/August, when this sessions transfers to a gastronomic restaurant as the Hotel school is closed). Good elementary French (or above) essential.
French & Art History Courses

Combine your French studies with a dedicated programme of Art History studies, lead by a French tutor with an Art History degree. Two afternoons on Arts vocabulary, evolution of the main French artists over the centuries, analysis of reproductions (shown on a large screen at the college) and debates. Four afternoons of guided museum visits: Matisse museum, Modern Art museum, Chagall museum and the Theatre de al Photo. Three afternoons of lectures on Art techniques and practice including a photographic project (chosen by students with their tutor). Following advice on photographic techniques students take pictures over 3 days prior to a debriefing session, comparing, contrasting and debating the photographs taken.
French Summer Sailing Course PM
2 weeks language course duration

10 Sailing lessons with a local Sailing Club/fortnight
offered as a supplementary course to the French group course
10 sessions of Catamaran sailing over two weeks, in-conjunction with the French Standard course. Students must bring a medical certificate as proof of general good health and those Under 18 yrs must have Permission forms from their parents.
French Summer Diving Course PM
2 weeks language course duration
Open to 16+ age group in June/September
10 Diving lessons with a local Diving Club/fortnight
offered as a supplementary course to the French group course
10 sessions of diving over two weeks leading up the PADI 1st level qualification, in-conjunction with the French Standard course. Every diving session is proceeded by a briefing and all dives are rigorously monitored. Students must bring a medical certificate as proof of general good health and those Under 18 yrs must have permission forms from their parents.
