French for Teenagers : Biarritz

Yes.  If you're looking for an immersion French course, staying with local French hosts. It's perfect for older teenagers looking to work on their French, in a teenage only study environment (by the sea) with other language students from across Europe.    Students really enjoy living on the Atlantic coast, in Biarritz.  The courses are popular ~ so early reservations are advised!

This is a VERY popular course option, it is essential you book as early as possible, to ensure you have a course place. You can't combined the Activities programme with the Surfing programme, in the same week (but Surf Course students do participate in the Wednesday excursion).

College Description
The Biarritz French college has an excellent academic record and operates as a language college each summer, catering for students aged 14yrs+.  The Lycee is located in a very pretty residential area of Biarritz.  This charming villa based college is just to the south east of the town centre, 8-10 minutes walking distance from the sea front, beaches and heart of the town.  The school offers 10 bright and spacious classrooms, a computer room, a large courtyard garden shaded by trees with tables and chairs and there's even room to play football and volleyball.

Supervision
Students are supervised by state qualified instructors for all sporting activities and by a member of college staff for other outings.

Location
Biarritz is situated on the Atlantic Coast, in the south west of France in the Basque Country.  The area is a very attractive holiday destination.  Biarritz, offers a wide range of daytime holiday activity possibilities and is also a surfers’ paradise and famed for its excellent beaches. Ideal for parental holidays, whilst the students are on a language course!

Accommodation
French host based (private household)
Offered on a shared room basis (either with a friend or the college will find a pair for you) with full-board (breakfast, lunch and evening meal) arranged by the hosts.
French hosts live in and around Biarritz - in houses just a walk or a short bus ride from the college, the beaches and the centre of Biarritz. If over 20 minutes from the college students are given a Bus Pass (but can also rent bikes locally for approx 25.00 Euros).

Hosts offer you the chance to share daily French life with native speakers.  They may have more than two student staying with them. They will collect you from Biarrtiz airport/station by arrangement, free of charge (if at reasonable hour) and take you back at the end of the course.  They will also show their students to college on the first Monday of their course. Weekends are spent with your hosts, so that they can enjoy your company and may even take you out for the day or go to the beach with you.

Going out Permission
Teenagers aged 14/17yrs old will need signed parental permission to be able to go out in the evenings. CESA will forward details upon enrolment.

Parents must indicate that either:

• 1/ no permission to go out is given 
• 2/ students are free to go out at a time set by their parents but in any case no later than 12.00midnight in the week & 01.30am on Friday/Saturday nights (no later curfews can be arranged).

French language students, aged 18 years of age+ are not subject to parental permission rules.
NB: Parents cannot set alternative curfews as the college is unable to police them.

Travel
Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday AM

Travel to Biarritz by plane (or train) and then take the host arranged two way transfer to your accommodation.
