Learn Spanish in Nerja
Accommodation in Nerja
Nerja is a town built on a human scale and everywhere is relatively close to everywhere else; Spanish language school, the fantastic beachs, the shops, the plentiful restaurants and bars - so commuting is rarely an issue. As the town is on the flat (set on a cliff top) there are no hills to brave, although the steps back up from the beach can wind the less fit amongst us!

College Residence:
A charming residence, with 30 rooms, well suited to older students or anyone aged 18yrs or over. It is just a couple of minutes on foot from the Spanish language college. A lovely modern building, in typical Andalucian town-house style; with a lift, tiled private courtyard open to the sky, a large student common room with wifi/internet access for students, air con, a cafe/bar and a large roof top sun terrace and plunge pool (with terrific views over the town to the mountains).
There is a small kitchen where students can prepare and eat meals (but it is tiny) however you can take breakfast on site in the student common room, but then again there are more than enough restaurants in Nerja to suit everyone's taste!
The residence in Nerja is really, really popular - you really are well advised to book in advance for the Easter and Summer period!
Only offered to students aged 18yrs+

Host accommodation:
Staying with Spanish hosts in private household accommodation provides you with a chance to see how Spanish people live on a day to day basis. Hosts may be widows, divorcees or couples, some have children - but most won't. The hosts are located within easy reach of the college (generally no more than 20 minutes walk, often far less) which makes Nerja a great location choice for students looking to keep commuting to a minimum (for example our younger students or those trying to escape their city life back home).
The hosts normally accommodate two students at a time and generally live 5 to 20 minutes walk from the college, so are within easy reach of the town centre, bars, restaurants and the amazing local beaches.
Room choice:
Single room : Own bedroom with single bed, desk & chair with access to communal bathroom and shared living spaces. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Lunch is the main meal of the day and will be held between 13.30hrs and 15.00hrs.
Shared room : Twin beds with desk & chair with access to communal bathroom and shared living spaces. Unless you are travelling with a friend, we do not offer shared room accommodation) with half-board (breakfast and lunch). A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Lunch is the main meal of the day and will be held between 13.30hrs and 15.00hrs.
Dinner can be arranged as an alternative to lunch for the half-board on request, but this is a far lighter meal in Andalucia, than the midday meal, so we don't recommend this as it is only worth considering if you are on a programme of 25 lessons or more per week. Please discuss with CESA to see if this is appropriate for you.

Hotels:
There are a terrific range of Hotels in Nerja, from small 2* Hotels through to the luxury of the Hotel Balcon de Europa (our favourite) and the Parador (both of which are located on the cliff face overlooking the sea). Please note that July/September summer season is a very busy period in Nerja and the best Hotel options will become fully booked early in the year.

Travel
Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday AM
We recommend students fly to Malaga's Pablo Ruiz Picasso International Airport.
You then have several options on reaching Nerja, which is around an hour's travel east along the coast from Malaga.
Taxis: You can take one of the official taxis in front of Malaga airport to Nerja (around 45 minutes) and your accommodation (though the taxi drivers don't always know their way around Nerja's one way system). Expect to pay around 65 Euros one way.
Bus: You can take the express airport bus (leaves every 30 minutes) into Malaga bus station and then change to the Nerja bus which is a very economic journey (approx 4 euros) but takes quite a long time (approx 1hr or 1.30hrs from central Malaga to Nerja, depending on whether you get the direct bus or not).
College transfer service: You are welcome (and advised) to take the college transfer service from Malaga airport to your accommodation. This service is provide by a Nerja taxi company that the college works with all the time and they will take you directly to your accommodation in Nerja. A one or two way transfer service can be offered. Prices for this service are quoted on the CESA Course Finder.
