History of Spain
Spain, world renown for the Costas', sangria, football, bull fighting and the art of Picasso and Dali. From the hot central plateau, down to the blue Mediterranean and north to the snow-capped Pyrenees, there is a region and college for every taste. The major Spanish industries include textiles and clothing, food and drink, metals and of course tourism. Spanish is an important European and Latin American language and is spoken by approximately 41 million people in Spain and nearly 350 million world-wide.
The language has its root deep in history where Romans, Moors, Celts and many others contributed to its unique character. It is the combination of the extrovert Spanish character, the richness of their history and culture and, of course, their wonderful weather that draws language students from around the world, time and time again!
