Accommodation in Cuernavaca
The vast majority of students choose to stay with local Mexican families (this is far and away the best choice for improving your Spanish!), however if you'd prefer to rent a private apartment, please let us know. The accommodation in Cuernavaca is typically 15/30 minutes on foot or by bus/car from the college.
Mexican hosts / Private households:
All hosts are asked to offer their student/s the following:
Provide clean, comfortable, affordable accommodation
Willing to incorporate students into daily family life
Be located no more than 15 minutes from the school by car
Provide transportation to all students
Have a telephone for students to receive calls
Provide 3 meals daily.
All host categories include transportation from the house to the school and from the school to the house, during the school schedule.
Students can choose from four categories of host based accommodation.
Option One:
The most luxurious option - a single room with local hosts, full board, with en suite bathroom in a home with a garden and swimming pool. This is a very popular accommodation choice as it offers a high level of comfort. We recommend you book early to be sure of a place during the University holiday periods (when demand is high).
Option Two:
A single room with local hosts, full board, with a private bathroom and the house generally has its own private garden that students can enjoy.
Option Three:
A single room with local hosts, full board, with a shared family bathroom in a mid-sized house (that may or may not have a garden).
Option Four:
The standard option - a shared room (student of same gender) with local hosts, full board, with shared bathroom. The best value option for those on a budget. The hosts are welcoming and friendly but the standard of accommodation is generally more simple than you will be used to at home.
Private Apartments
If you'd like to rent a studio apartment (sole occupancy) please contact CESA for details.
There are a number of small apartments near to the Spanish language school (less than 15/20 minutes walk) that can be rented privately. The school will supply information, but the arrangements will have to be made direct with the Apartment Owners.
Travel
Arrive: Thursday or Friday PM
Depart: Saturday AM
Students choose to fly to Mexico City's International airport and then take the college arrival transfer service to Cuernavaca. You are welcome to make your own way by bus or taxi, but most students, particularly first time students prefer the transfer. You have to arrive on Friday at the latest as you are required at the college on Saturday for the induction talk, registration and class assessment before lessons begin on Monday.
