Accommodation in Santiago

Students can choose to stay in either local private households with Chilean hosts or in shared apartments, living with Chileans or other language students. Santiago is a fairly compact city and so daily commutes are pretty good in comparison to most cities. Students should allow travel times of 15 to 30 minutes each way.

Private households:

Single room accommodation with local Chilean hosts with half-board (breakfast and evening meal). Some hosts can offer private bathrooms and a TV in the room, to students at extra cost (limited supply and at additional cost).

Bed linen and towels are included (and changed once a week).
The hosts are usually middle to upper-middle class people on a Latin American scale and each host is inspected by the college accommodation officer.  We have quoted host accommodation no more than 30 minutes travelling time from the college in the CESA Course Finder.

Shared apartments:

Students can rent a room in an apartment, sharing with other language students or in some cases with local Chilean students.  You are welcome to specify your preference for sharing, but it will depend on room availablity at the time your course takes places, so no guarantees on this matter can be offered.

Students self cater and a towel and bed linen is provided.
House keeping will be done 3 times a week.
The apartments generally have WIFI and cable TV.
Students can rent either a single or a shared room.  If you choose a shared room, but no room mate can be allocated by the college, you will still be charged the shared room rate, on the understanding that once a room mate is found, they will move in with you.
