Accommodation in Venice

Venice is historic, wonderful and something of a maze! All accommodation offered is in Venice itself, not Mestre which simplifies matters, but please anticipate a 15 to 25 minutes trip to college each day, either on foot (or in part, by water taxi).

Italian hosts/Private households:

Stay with local hosts, in apartments in either single or shared rooms (shared rooms are only on offer if travelling as a couple or with a friend) on a self catering basis. Staying with hosts allows you to speak Italians with local people out of class and they are generally 15 to 25 minutes commute from the college.

Italian residence:

The residence (just 15/20 mins to the Italian language college) offers students a single room with private bathroom each (or shared rooms for couples or friends) in one of the most charming cloisters in the city. Located in a ancient vineyard with hundreds of olive trees, the Cloister is the ideal place if you want to be near the historical centre, in a fashionable area among students and artists, at reasonable cost. Very popular with all language students looking for an independent accommodation in easy reach of the main sights of Venice.

Facilities include:
25+ single rooms with view + bathroom,
wi fi access,
use of kitchen and laundry
comfortable TV rooms and meeting rooms.

It is situated on Giudecca a picturesque island in front of the Zattere; a continuous waterbus service links the island to the historical centre and so it can be also reached easily from Piazzale Roma and the railway station.
Ask for Venice accommodation factsheet : for further residence details.

Italian Hotels:

There are a good range of Hotels in Venice, please let us know your preference when booking. Higher standard Hotels are ideal for adults on short term courses, but not recommended for younger students travelling on their own.

Travel

Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday PM

We recommend students fly to “Venice Marco Polo” Venice International airport and then take either a bus or shuttle bus, which leave every 30 minutes, or a water taxi to the accommodation. You are welcome to book a transfer service from the airport with the college at an additional cost. Please note that in Vencie a transfer means: you will be met on arrival at the airport/station and taken by public transport to your accommodation (you will have to carry your own luggage) - they cannot transfer you by car as you would expect in other locations (as none can be used in Venice).
