Social Activities in San Giovanni

All students are encouraged to make the most of their time in San Giovanni by participating in the cultural activities and excursions offered by the college.

The cultural programme includes such activities as:
Excursions to the countryside near San Giovanni and guided visits to Florence and surrounding areas
Afternoon shopping trips to Prada, Dolce e Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and Armani outlets
Showing of Italian films, visits and guided tasting of wine and olive oil farms in the areas close to San Giovanni
One-day weekend excursions to the most interesting towns such as Tuscany and less frequently, Umbria
On official start dates the school organises a guided tour of San Giovanni and then a meal at a local pizzeria or restaurant.

Activities outside the college:
For shopping, San Giovanni offers all the bargains and range of the larger cities through its numerous variety of retail outlets, but with the tranquil convenience. Here you can buy the latest fashion in clothes and bags from designers such as: Prada, Gucci, Dolce e Gabbana, and Fendi.

For eating and drinking out there are a number of places in San Giovanni. Why not try the Pizzeria-video pub Las Vegas, this is 15 minutes walk from the school, and a restaurant where a lot of people come to socialise and spend their evenings. Caffe Fiorenza is a nice little terraced café in the main square where you can enjoy a light lunch in a nice setting, Bar Martini also in the main square, serves excellent coffee, cappuccino and light lunches.

The nightlife in San Giovanni is not as lively as some of its neighbouring cities, but there are always options for entertainment at local bars and at the cinema. However some students like to catch the train into Florence and venture into some of the nightclubs there are then catch a train back in the early hours of the morning.

There are several sports facilities in San Giovanni, such as an open-air swimming pool, tennis courts, football pitch, a small skating rink. There is also a private gymnasium, mountain bike rental, horseback riding and a mini golf course. There is never a shortage of activities!
