About San Giovanni
San Giovanni is a small and delightful, medieval town in the heart of Tuscany, with a population of 17,000 inhabitants. Surrounded by small Chianti villages, old churches and farms, San Giovanni remains apart from the stresses of traffic and tourism. Each Saturday morning many people from the surrounding towns flock to San Giovanni for the colourful and characteristic street market. This offers wonderful opportunities to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, on-site roasted chickens, pork, traditional tripe-filled rolls, as well as affordable clothes, shoes, utensils, dress materials, plants and much more.
