Learn Italian in San Giovanni
Accommodation
San Giovanni is a small town and offers a range of accommodation, all within easy walking distance of the college buildings. Students can choose to stay with local Italian hosts or in apartments, sharing with Italians or other students or private studio apartments.
Private households: Stay with local hosts, in apartments in either single or shared rooms (shared rooms are only on offer if travelling as a couple or with a friend) on a B&B or half-board basis. Staying with hosts allows you to speak Italians with local people out of class and they are normally less than 20 minutes walk from the college.
Shared apartments: Apartments are also normally less than 20 minutes walk from the college. For 18+ age group only, who are used to an independent lifestyle. The apartments consist of a communal kitchen and bathroom and a single or shared (for friends only) bedroom each. NB: Heating charges may be applied during the colder months. Apartments are shared with local Italian people or other students. If you have a preference please let CESA know when enrolling. We will do our best to meet your requirements, if possible.
Studio apartments: Self contained, simply furnished accommodation. Which can be in short supply over the summer months, so early bookings recommended.
Hotels: Please let us know your style of room preferred when booking. Hotels are ideal for adults on short term courses, but not recommended for younger students travelling on their own.
Travel
Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday PM
Florence airport: Students can fly to Florence airport then take a bus or taxi to Florence train station. From here students can take the train connection to San Giovanni.
Pisa airport: Students can fly to Pisa airport and then get the shuttle bus to Florence train station. Students can then take the train to San Giovanni.
Rome airport: Students can fly to Rome airport and then take the shuttle bus to Rome train station. From here students can take the train to San Giovanni.
The school is happy to offer a pick up service at San Giovanni Valdarno train station provided that the students inform them of their approximate arrival time. Students are welcome to take advantage of the transfer service offered by the college from Florence, Rome or Pisa airport at an additional cost.
