The colleges can assist you prepare for a full range of German language exams.

Sometimes you may just want to take it for your own satisfaction, or may be required to take a test such as the Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD also known as the ZDaF), the Großes Sprachdiplom (GDS), or the TestDaF. There are more than a dozen tests you can take to certify your proficiency in German. Which test you take depends on several factors, including for what purpose or for whom you are taking the test. If you plan on attending a German university, for instance, you need to find out which test is required or recommended.

	A standardized test such as the widely accepted Zertifikat Deutsch, (equivalent to B1 on the CEF scale of ability) has proven its validity over the years and is recognized as certification in many situations. The TestDaF is a language test for foreign learners of German  (equivalent to B2.1 to C1.2 on the CEF scale of ability) who plan to study in Germany or who require recognised certification of their language skills. The TestDaF examination is developed and evaluated by the TestDaF Institute based in Hagen,Germany. The test can be taken at licensed Test Centres in about 80 different countries. All examination candidates receive the same tasks and the examinations are graded by trained markers.
