About Sainte Anne

French language students of all ages, looking for a different French language course experience will appreciate the delightful town of Sainte-Anne and its relaxed way of life.

Sainte-Anne is a friendly town, with a good range of restaurants and cafes to explore. It is home to around 20,000 people and is located just 25 minutes east, along the coast from Pointe-a-Pitre. Sainte-Anne is renown for its magnificent beaches with pure white sands, one of the best being “La Plage de Bois Jolan”, just east of Sainte-Anne. There is also the town beach, “La Plage du Bourg” overlooking the picturesque lagoon.

Sainte-Anne as an area depends on a mixture of agriculture and tourism to support its economy and is located on the southern coast of Grande Terre. The town was named after the mother of the famous French King, Louis XIV, Anne of Austria. Up in the hills and valleys behind Sainte-Anne there is a wealth of rolling green countryside to discover known as “Les Grands Fonds”.

Local Specialities

The area has a wealth of fabulous local dishes to discover. The local Creole cooking is a must try for those who like their chicken and fish dishes spicy. For the authentic experience, try the college cookery programme – featured in the Course Description section of this website.
