Students always enjoy this opportunity to learn about French wine, wine-making and have fun learning the correct way to taste red and white wines with a wine specialist. This course is highly recommended by past students. The 2 ½ hr session includes an introduction to the vocabulary, history and regions associated with the wine industry. It covers the fundamentals of wine tasting and a visit to the school's own medieval wine cellar. This is followed by two visits by a wine specialist, the first visit concentrates on presenting the white wines of France and students taste 5 or 6 wines. He then explains the various ways the white wines are made and how to differentiate the tastes of the different grapes. The second visit follows the same format, in connection with the red wines of France.
