Accommodation in Montpellier
Montpellier is a large city and students must allow for a commute of approx. 15 to 30 mins to college each morning if staying with local hosts or in the 3* Apartment Hotels. NB: The summer months are VERY popular, demand is high so early bookings are recommended.

Student residences:
Very popular student choice throughout the year, so please book early.
The student residences welcome students from all over the world year round. They offer self contained studios within private student residences and have certain common facilities like breakfast room, laundry room etc. Students have their own bathroom, kitchenette.
Residences are within an easy walk of the college (or easy public transport journey) and the city centre amenities. A deposit will be required on arrival in Euros.
Rooms :
Studios for single or double occupancy. Private bathroom (shower, lavabo and toilet) as well as small kitchen or common kitchen incl. fridge and cooking facilities. Internet access free of charge possible (bring you own computer).
Meal plan :
Self catering - many shops are within a few minutes walk from the residences.
Location :
3 or 12 minutes on foot to our French language school (very rarely we use a residence which might involve a short bus or tram ride).
Transfers :
You are asked to make you own way to the residences. You will receive detailed information on how to get there by bus or tramway.
On arrival :
Please respect the official arrival times or advise CESA well in advance.
Hosts/Private households:
Can be booked on a single or shared room basis (shared room only available if staying with a friend) on a B&B or half-board basis with local hosts. Hosts live in apartments in and around central Montpellier.
Rooms :
Single room (double rooms are also possible for students travelling together). All rooms are properly equipped with a proper bed, adequate storage space, lighting, chair and desk etc.
Meal plan :
Breakfast only or half board (breakfast and dinner).
Location of families :
Nearly all families live within less than 30 minutes of the French language school. Approximately half of the host families are located within walking distance to the French language school, for others you will need to take a tram or bus to reach the college.
Transfers :
You will be picked up at Montpellier train station or airport upon arrival and taken back for departure. You must let CESA or your host family know the time of your arrival as well as flight number or train number no later than 1 week before your arrival. This service is available between 9:00 am and 10:30 pm. This service is free of charge. Arrival is possible as of 02:00 pm, earlier on request.
On arrival :
Your host family will show you your room as well as the common parts of the accommodation. You will be given a key to the home and your hosts will explain you the house rules.
Note: At the French language school you can also book a room in a shared apartment with French people, with access to bathroom and kitchen. This option is only available for a minimum stay of three months.
We want to choose the best matching family for your French language stay with us. We guarantee to fulfil all your special requests like vegetarian food, special nutrition requirements (food allergies), respect all allergies against any pets etc. as well as guaranteeing non-smoking families. We also make all efforts to fulfil your wishes like families with or without children, central location, family at a certain age or all other requests you might have. Additionally, we take into account your age and hobbies. However please note that when a last minute enrolment is made we may not be able to meet all (or any) very specific requirements.
3* Apartment Hotel:
Private studio with en suite bathroom, kitchen & TV, within easy commute of the college. NB: High Season rates apply during the summer months, each year. The aparthotels offer independent studios for one person or two people as well as 2 room apartments for up to 4 people sharing.
Studios :
Studios of approx. 25 m2 with private bathroom (shower, lavabo and toilet) as well as a fully equipped kitchen incl. fridge and cooking facilities. Telephone and TV are available.
Meal plan :
Self catering.
Location :
Between 10 and 20 minutes from French language school (use of tramway).
Transfers :
You will make you own way to the aparthotel. You will receive detailed information on how to get there by bus or tramway.
On arrival :
Please do respect the arrival times or call the aparthotel directly in advance in case of late arrival.
Hotels:
Local 2* & 3* Hotel options offered to adults on short term programmes. Please specify dates and style of room required.
Furnished Studio apartments:
Offered for a minimum let of 16 weeks, please contact the CESA office if of interest.
Travel
Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday PM
We recommend that you fly direct to Montpellier-Méditerrannée airport; from there you can take a taxi or the shuttle bus to your accommodation in Montpellier. This should take approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
If staying with hosts, French language students are welcome to take advantage of the transfer service provided by the college (free of charge). If in a residence, or any accommodation other than host accommodation, students need to make their own way on arrival in Montpellier.
