Methodology
There are two types of Arabic course offered at the college, Modern Standard Arabic or Colloquial Moroccan Arabic.
Most students study Modern Standard Arabic as this is the language of the media, written correspondence, documents, literature and formal speech throughout the Arab world. Colloquial Moroccan Arabic is used in everyday situations in Morocco and other parts of Northern Africa and has a strong oral tradition. For a more detailed explanation of the language situation please ask for the CESA fact sheet on Morocco.
