Rosie Hall : 1 week Alevel course
I hoped to gain a lot more confidence in Spanish general conversation and develop my knowledge of more complex grammar structures, as well as having the opportunity to experience a very unique city, full of beauty and life.
My expectations were more than met! I returned home feeling much more confident and capable; both linguistically and in my ability to pursue opportunities.
The diversity of the lessons on the Spanish Alevel course helped me a lot, as well as going through past A’level papers. The classes didn’t have too many students in them, so your ability to learn wasn’t in any way limited, furthermore the length of the day was perfect for me.
The accessibility and facilities at the Spanish language school provided a comfortable environment in which to study, the staff were also very friendly and the location was excellent!
What I found extremely beneficial was that all lessons were taught completely in Spanish, if you didn’t understand something it would be explained in Spanish, which I believe really helped in developing my language skills.
I felt at ease my whole trip; both my host and the Spanish language school were very welcoming. I have very fond memories of the trip: met some great people: both A level students and people from Madrid who I’ve kept in contact with. I hope to return to Madrid. As an 18 year old coming to Spain for the first time, I felt very comfortable and would recommend the course to anyone.
Madrid wasn’t as cheap as I was expecting but a beautiful city, people were friendly, and the public transport (particularly the metro) was extremely efficient; very impressed! As well as being cheap to get around. I did feel safe getting around although I didn’t travel alone at night; however this isn’t specific to Madrid! There are plenty of things to see in Madrid, the social life was excellent. It would be useful if the college included places to go and times in which to visit them.
I liked the independence of the accommodation and my host was extremely friendly and welcoming. Having been given a front door key I felt I was treated as a responsible lodger, an independent individual at liberty to explore the city.
CESA was a very good company, efficient; any queries were answered immediately and friendly staff. Thanks!
I thoroughly enjoyed it and would repeat it all over again! A very worthwhile experience.
