Summer School in Florence

Katie Allen : 4 weeks July/August

Learn Italian in FlorenceI had done a week’s course in Florence before so I knew roughly what to expect from that side of things. I wasn’t sure what living with a host family would be like but I was hoping for a relaxed friendly atmosphere.  Thankfully I felt that my expectations were both met and surpassed particularly with regards to my accommodation and host family. Learn Italian in Sorrento

Meredith spent 4 weeks last summer in Italy with CESA:

Italian Language Courses in SorrentoI honestly had no idea what to expect from my Italian course in Sorrento. I was prepared (as best I could mentally) for the culture shock but beyond that I had no idea what I was getting myself in to.

Absolutely I was very happy with the way the Sorrento Italian language school was set up, and Olga’s way of introducing me to the school made me feel especially comfortable, Read More »

Ms Lamb – Italian Over 50s course in Siena

Study Italian in SienaI was hoping for an intensive course with a lot of practice in listening and speaking and ideally a nice friendly atmosphere and some enjoyable tours with like-minded people.  Thankfully I can say that all of these goals were realised!

I was exceedingly challenged by the standard of the lessons and it took 2 to 3 days to understand the tutor.  The lessons were well presented, lively and enjoyable but a little more simple explanation would have been appreciated.  I felt we were always progressing at the rate of the quickest but nevertheless it was good for me to work hard and the homework was very useful. Learning Italian in Sorrento… Attenzione!

Sarah (20 yrs old):

“Here I am at the end of week 2 with a number of things to catch you up on.

I had a great start to my weekend, the school planned a trip to see two towns along the Amalfi Coast on Saturday. We met bright and early in front of the school, from there we walked to the bus station and off we went to Positano, our fist stop. It was incredible, Positano was truly unforgettable with its windy streets that go up and down and its history; it is a site never to foget. We had a staff member show us around. She was truly full of information and the mini talks she gave weren’t those boring, all about history, she included fun facts and jokes every now and then. Read More »

Stefania: 24 week Italian Gap Year Course

I have an Italian background but I had little knowledge of the language.  I was looking forward to the linguistic challenge, but  was very nervous and excited.  Definitely felt better prepared for the experience after talking to the CESA staff.

Having lessons solidly in Italian was the real challenge – but it made learning the language easier.  I found the lessons fantastic, all the staff were lovely and helped as much as they could when you couldn’t understand something.  The school was really good and the location was so convenient, right in the centre of Florence.  Read More »

Emma & Adam: 5 week Standard Course

Friends, Emma  (22) and Adam  (22) spent 5 weeks on a Standard course in Viareggio from July to September with CESA, hear what they both thought of their time in Viareggio:
> Viareggio College Description

EMMA:

“I expected to learn quite a bit of Italian whilst having a really good time! I expected it to be quite hard work but enjoyable and satisfying. I expected the quality of teaching to be high and for the teachers to be friendly and helpful. I thought that there would be a lot of social events and things to do. My expectations were definitely met. I feel that my Italian improved a great deal, I started at beginner level and I progressed very quickly. The teachers were friendly and helpful as I expected and there was plenty to do outside of lessons. Read More »
