Learn a Language

Alevel Revision week - April

Is this course for you?

Yes, if you wish to revise your French language skills in the half-term, prior to your written and oral papers in the Spring. An ideal opportunity to put your language skills into practise with native French speakers and study with professional, native speaking teachers prior to the exams.

We are offering a ONE week course to Alevel students, currently working towards their AS or A2 exams in the UK.  This course is designed to meet the needs of high school students who want to improve their knowledge of French with a view to the examination, which marks the end of their school education. Morning lessons (Standard Course format, at an appropriate intermediate B1 or B2 French level) are devoted to grammatical and functional aims and to "exposés" during which each student presents a work of a French author he has chosen. Afternoon lessons are reserved for résumé techniques and text analysis.1 to 2 hours per day after lessons for preparation or exercises. All text material used in lessons deals with French literature and civilisation.

* The students are divided into classes according to language ability, according to a language test. Please discuss with CESA.

College:
Established in 1992, the school is situated a few blocks south of Nice Main Railway station, some 200 metres from the Nice Etoile shopping area, 400 meters from Place Massena and 10 minutes from the Promenade des Anglais by foot. Located in a quiet residential area the school is situated in a lovely mansion, surrounded by similar styled houses from the turn of the 20th century.

The year round school consists of 16 classrooms, air conditioning, a library, computer room with internet access and a student common room with a small library. There is also a small courtyard, shaded by trees where students can relax during breaks.

CESA highly recommends this college, which offers the main CESA Easter & Summer A'level courses, as well as a range of excellent year round general, Gap Year and adult orientated language courses.

Accommodation:
Nice is a popular and large city and students must allow for a commute of approx. 15 to 40 mins to college each morning if staying with local hosts.

Private households: Can be booked on a single or shared room basis (shared room only available if staying with a friend) on a half-board basis (breakfast and evening meal) with local hosts. Hosts live in apartments in and around the city.
They may have more than one student staying with them at a time.
They will collect you from the airport/station by arrangement, free of charge (if at reasonable hour) but you are expected to arrange your own return trip at the end of the course.
